Fine, I'll do it...

I don't like to blog about embarrassing stuff...but, I haven't really had much to drink since a few days before New Years. I don't remember the exact day...it might have been a Wednesday night. Anyhow, my friend Kelly called me in the early evening with a last minute invite out. An old friend of his was in town visiting and he wanted me to tag along with him and some of her friends to Cafe Intermezzo. He didn't want to go by himself so I happily obliged (turns out another one of our friends, Lee, decided he wanted to go also). So, we arrive and it's actually a really nice place...the whole ambiance of the place made me feel like a real grown up. Kelly and I decide to split a bottle of wine. Lee gets Turkish coffee or something like that...I love coffee but this stuff smelled awful. Some hummus gets ordered, which is something I've never tried. It looks kinda good so I decide to give it a go. Good stuff! Kelly and I reach the end of the bottle and at this point I'm feeling a little light headed considering I hadn't really eaten anything that day besides the hummus. We go ahead and order another bottle and go right through it. Basically, I've only had one bottle of wine to drink...which I've done plenty of times before and felt perfectly fine. But this time...well, this time was a little different. I'm starting to not feel good at all. I go into the bathroom and try to throw up but to no avail. By the time I come out (10 minutes later), it's time to go (thank god) and we go to the car. Lee's driving, Kelly is in the back and I'm in the passenger seat with my eyes closed trying not to get sick in Kelly's car. Finally, after what seems like an hour (in reality it was probably 20 minutes) they get me home. Kelly actually has to help me out of the car and then I proceed to get sick outside. I woke up the next day feeling like absolute shit (no headache but the thought of eating anything made me want to gag).

Lessons learned:
...a $30 bottle of wine hits me differently than a $7 bottle.
...I will no longer drink on an empty stomach.
...I don't think I'll ever eat hummus again.

Oh Leese.. I've been there too. Don't drink Blue Martinis on an empty stomach either. Drain-O. No more said there.

Drunk pictures are the best -- except when they are of me! :-)

I'll be back to blogging when I get my online status back online at home.

Drunk pictures rock. Which Cafe 'Mez were you at? The one on P'tree or near Perimeter Mall? I have fun drunk stories from both of those locations! :)
(BTW - Found your blog off Rob Lowe's, if you're curious. Wanted to say hello to a fellow Atlantan!)
